Chance Brown Uncle Michael May 26, 2019
Just thinking about you on this holiday weekend , it’s been a while since I’ve visited on here...thinking about all the jokes, the walks, the competitions, playing cards, cooking out on the grill we did and the crazy and funny stories you had...TIMELESS!! The males in this family go way too soon... it would’ve been funny to see all of us together, your dad included!!

Love You,
Chance
Marie Gourley Generous Hand April 29, 2010
I met your father Michael on a flight from Seattle. I was traveling with my oldest son who at the time was 3. I was pregnant with my second son at the time. We enjoyed such wonderful conversation. On this particular flight, the plane flew so close to Mt. Rainier that we got an up close view that was spectacular. Later in the flight, the attendant was offering snack boxes for $5. My little son wanted one. I told him that I had brought snacks and was not going to buy the boxed snack. Truthfully, I didn't have the $5 to pay for it. Your dad ordered a box, paid for it, and then handed it to my son. It has always stuck out in my mind how generous he was with conversation, and with money to buy that for my little boy. Not only that, but he picked up countless crayons that were dropped on the floor. He talked about his family. It was clear that he loved you all very much.

Losing someone close to you is a very intimate time. I appreciate your openness to share this loss with me. Death is a certainty for each of us, though it leaves a painful stain for those left behind. As you consider your father's life, take time to consider the love of your Heavenly Father. While your Dad is not here to talk with, God promises in His word to hear the prayer of a righteous person. By righteous, the bible does not suggest that you be "cleaned up" or "perfect" rather that you are seeking Him. There is a life to be had eternally through His Son Jesus Christ. As you process your grief, call out to God, accept His grace, and rest in the assurance that He will provide strength. He will uphold you with His mighty right hand. I am available to you to help walk through this should you have that need. indymom@comcast.net

Thankful that I met Michael,
Marie Gourley
